THE BOOKS

I have been compelled to write since I was quite young. Maybe, just maybe, there's a good reason for that. Writing might be an outlet for a debilitating mental condition, rather like a fistula, or it could be something more. Perhaps there's something said within these pages that might change a life. Perhaps if you read the work of this guy, you're view of the world might change just a little bit. Could you handle that?

The Egocentric Predicament

I'm not sure what people really think when they read this story. I do know there have been several people who will not finish reading it. But for those who have, for those who have found it worth the time, every single one of them who have told me so stated they were glad they did. They have told me there was something about their world, their kind, their own people, they didn't know. This story approaches the capacity of human evil, but it also reaches for the best of humanity, as well.

A Trucker's Tale
A Gunnar Brickendale Novel

I'm a trucker by trade. If I was a cop, I probably would have written a story about a cop. But then, all kinds of people have done that. But this is a story about a professional truck driver.

This story brings us into the life of Gunnar 'Brick' Brickendale, who, through some simple twists of fate, changes the face of an entire nation. Brick wonders why he stands before the President of the United States, but those who know him know he belongs within the ranks of all fine men.

Here, we seek to pay homage to the Driver, and give Trucker Fiction a place within modern writing.

Tangled in Climbing Nightshade

I struggle so much with what humanity is, on so many levels. Sure, we all know what humanity desires to be. But what are we really? In this story, we approach the glass and look at humanity from a very different perspective.

So, what drives someone to go so crazy that they end up at a moment when they think it would be a good idea to kill everyone in their family and then take their own life just a moment later? We know it goes on. This is not even an isolated incident, but it actually borders on being trendy.

While everyone else ignores it (like they do most of evil) Roddy digs in to show you what he's seen. Find out why Roddy calls this one his favorite. And this one is also free for a limited time. FREE!

The Art of Roddyism

This is a short story collection of twelve stories. Contained within includes the story prompting Tangled in Climbing Nightshade. There is also an expose' detailing where those boys get those nasty magazines. There's one just for my trucking colleagues (but you can read it, too). There's the 'ripped from the headlines' kind of thing in there.

There is romance, suspense, adventure, some of this, a little of that, and a pinch to grow an inch.

This is a free download and I am happy to say worth every penny. Besides, if you like short story collections, this is something you will surely enjoy.

The Monsters of Monsters

This is more of a writing experiment than anything else, since I merely followed an idea. There is more mentioned on the next web page, since this is the novel version of the serial on the Quotev site. After completing the experiment of writing one page a day for a year, I eventually combined everything into an eBook and made it available on Smashwords.

Let's be honest and say just what this is, which is a first draft. But the writing experiment was based on the statement that, If you write one page a day every day for a year, you will have written a book! Now, I don't wholly agree since a book is more than a series of pages, but a work derived from several aspects of effort, from rewriting and revising, along with a lot of work on plot, characters, and so much more. But I had little else going on and went with the experiment. But I went a step further.

I wrote the entire thing on a Kindle Fire with a stylus. I can't say for sure, but there may not be any other novels anywhere written like this one was written. And you know what? I actually like how it turned out. You might, as well.
